Bushland Melody - Laughing Kookaburra
This artwork is currently on consignment at Manly Harbour Gallery, Brisbane, Australia. For details please contact Natalie via her website or Manly Harbour Gallery directly.
This original artwork comes fully framed by master framers in Brisbane, Queensland, and can be customised by the buyer for no extra charge. The standard frame used is a classic white modern style frame with white matte, but we are conscious that buying an original piece of art is a highly personal and intimate process, which is why Natalie is happy to tailor the frame to suit the collectors needs. This piece comes with certificates of authenticity and, for orders within Australia, shipping and freight charges included in the price.
The Story: Morning light filters through eucalyptus leaves as a soft breeze gently agitates life into the new day. A fidgeting of feathers and a strong kingfisher beak are noticeable amongst the branches - an exposed yet deliberate location - a stage in the bush. Deep umber wings transition into turquoise and cream, fringing a boldly striped tail. A tumbling cackle pierces the waking silence, rising in volume into an unabashed crescendo of laughter. The Kookaburras melody jolts the day from its daze and launches it into an early scurry of activity. The sound then dissolves into the now bustling bushland scene, his amber eyes almost fossilised into an expression that smirks before saying, “Yes it was me, King of the Bush, who woke you up this morning”.
